Africa Fashion Week Barcelona

The concept Africa Fashion Week was created in 2009 by Adiree Communicacions, with the intention of placing the structure around the African fashion industry and promoting international economic ties and at the same time promoting African brands worldwide. The first AFW was held in New York in 2009 and since then the concept has expanded worldwide.

In 2013 Barcelona joined the list of European capitals that already have promotional events for designers from all over Africa, from north to south, from east to west passing through the center and from the whole Afro World to become a splatform of the Emerging and consecrated designers.

AFRICA FASHION WEEK BARCELONA is an important annual fashion event that provides a platform for fashion and accessories designers from African countries and the Afro Universe. AWFB aims to raise awareness of the work of African fashion designers and African-inspired sewing, offering multiple opportunities to showcase their work to a broad audience. AFWB offers young afro models the unique opportunity to parade and to make their way in the difficult and closed world of the fashion catwalks. It is not only about exhibiting designer clothes, but also about showing the natural beauty of the Afro condition.
